Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Shia LaBeouf told Variety he was approached by director David Ayer to be in Suicide Squad but things fell through and the executives didn’t go with him. He was meant to play GQ, a character I forgot was in the movie. Apparently, GQ was meant to be a much different character as was Tom Hardy’s Rick Flagg but the two characters ended up being reduced to give more of a focus on Will Smith. Shia LaBeouf still received dead animals in the mail from Jared Leto because that’s simply his thing now.
– Leslie Martinson, the director of the 1966 Batman film has passed. Martinson was 101 when he passed and the number of TV shows he worked on was greater than his age.
– Georgina Campbell has been cast as Lyta Zod in the upcoming series Krypton. Apparently we’re just going to do for Superman what Gotham did for Batman and just do a prequel series that covers a lot of the stuff no one’s really interested about in regards to the original character. I hope Krypton somehow gets its own Court of Owls.
– Some Twitter account that stalks Tom Holland leaked these photos of a Spider-Man: Homecoming villain. Check them out if you want, but I’m not going to put any spoilers here. That would be downright venomous.
