– Bryan Singer has decided (or had it decided for him) that he will be doing no press for X-Men: Days of Future Past due to the recent allegations of sexual abuse of minors. His statement reads:
“The allegations against me are outrageous, vicious and completely false. I do not want these fictitious claims to divert ANY attention from X-Men: Days of Future Past. This fantastic film is a labor of love and one of the greatest experiences of my career. So, out of respect to all of the extraordinary contributions from the incredibly talented actors and crew involved, I’ve decided not to participate in the upcoming media events for the film. However, I promise when this situation is over, the facts will show this to be the sick twisted shake down it is. I want to thank fans, friends and family for all their amazing and overwhelming support.”
– Kevin Feige spoke to Empire Magazine about Ant-Man, and the Nerdist compiles all the interesting quotes into their piece. The most interesting thing, to me, is that Wright’s Ant-Man approach, since it has been around for so long, actually influenced the machinations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This is the superhero movie I am most excited about, and can’t wait to check it out.
– The first look at the cast of Jem and the Holograms has been revealed and, so much as you can learn anything from these types of publicity photos, they look pretty accurate to the original cartoon.
– Max Brooks, author of “World War Z” and the recently optioned comic “Extinction Parade” has announced the latest chapter, “Extinction Parade: War,” with art by Raulo Caceres, will be released this summer from Avatar.
– Another week, another awesome Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. poster – this week, it is by Stephanie Hans, and features Deathlok prominently.
– Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisberg spoke to CBR News about “Seeing Red,” the most recent episode of the show, and, when hearing him unpack it, it shows just how much they crammed into one episode this week. Massive spoilers if you aren’t caught up.
– And, finally, Out of Step Arts has a showcase exhibit at the William King Museum of Art in Abigdon, VA, featuring the art of Greg Ruth, Alexis Ziritt, Ming Doyle, Andrew MacLean, Chris Visions, Logan Faerber, Toby Cypress, Paul Maybury, Liz Suburbia and Nathan Fox. If you’re in the DC area, check it out, ya goofs!
