– In the new world order post Convergence, Superman and Wonder Woman will be getting new costumes and they’re…eh. Arm blades for Wonder Woman along with every square inch of her body covered by clothing (I’m not saying she needs to be nude, but Superman has more skin revealed) as if they’re terrified about the potential negative response and a return to the Morrison/Morales look for Superman (if it was more influenced by the old Superboy/Connor Kent outfit) are what we get, and they’re just…uninspired. Not impressed.

– Big congrats to Jamie S. Rich, as he’s taken a gig at Vertigo as a Senior Editor. The guy is very smart, and I can’t help but think that he’s going to help them make me eat my words after I wrote a piece last year about the downturn at Vertigo in recent memory.

– Could Dominic Cooper be playing Jesse Custer in “Preacher”? There’s an unconfirmed rumor that he is the frontrunner, and I gotta admit, I’d love it, even if I think I’ll always see him as Howard Stark. Dude’s a great actor, and I think he can bring the soulfulness to the role that is necessary.

– This is a fun creative team: James Robinson and Marcio Takara are pairing for yet another “Secret Wars” tie-in, as they’ll be working on an “Armor Wars” book. While I’m getting a little aghast at the sheer number of books they’re roping into this event, that is a pretty damn good team.

– Disney is extending their no smoking ban to Marvel’s movies, so sorry Nick Fury, no cigars for you.

– This is a bummer: Walt Simonson wrote about how the upcoming omnibus of his work on “Orion” isn’t up to his standards, with the back-up stories that went in each issue of the series (with art from people like Frank Miller and Dave Gibbons) getting shunted off to the back of the collection, instead of with the stories they paired with. For some, that’s not an issue, but for several of the stories they specifically paired with the main story of the issue, so it’s an odd move. It’s too bad they didn’t consult with Simonson over this, as you have to imagine this is an omnibus for the hardcore Simonson fans, and they might just pass on this now.
