Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Want to support an awesome comic project on Kickstarter that hit its goal after 8 hours? Of course you do! Greg Rucka and Rick Burchett’s glorious web series Lady Sabre & the Pirates of the Ineffable Aether is set to come to life in a beautifully conceived print edition, and they want your help on Kickstarter. They have a legion of amazing rewards, but I went with the $50 level. Get an inscription from Greg in the book, plus a bookplate? How great is that?! Support this book!

– People are grumping on the Internet about how Warren Ellis hasn’t gotten paid for Extremis being used in Iron Man 3, and as the man is known to do, he has a response to that that is prototypical Ellis: on point and up front. The guy is always such a breath of fresh air in terms of commentary.

– Hey look, all 8 covers for Morning Glories #27 are out, and what a collection of beauties (I like the Rob Guillory one the most, personally). More importantly, look below where news has arrived of Matt Meylikhov, MC EIC, both putting together mini Study Halls for the back of each issue going forward AND him writing a back-up called Morning Glories Babies, with art from Joe Eisma coming in the future. Well how about that?

– Did you pick up The Strangers #1 from Oni, Chris Roberson and Scott Kowalchuk on Free Comic Book Day? You better have! Kowalchuk has more details about the book on his site, including an excellent look at how the first (next release) and second issue covers will fit together in a glorious way.

– Jim Zubkavich has another write up analyzing the sales and success of his own creator-owned work, and while this one may not have as many tips and tricks for new creators, it is fascinating to see how well his gimmick (sorry Jim!) of renumbering Skullkickers for five straight months worked. Very, very effective, to the point I’m amazed it’s such a simple solution to boost sales. Let’s hope it doesn’t become a thing for the industry though.

– Yale Stewart has a limited to 30 print for JL8 at the upcoming HeroesCon, and the results are adorable. Seriously adorable.
