– The vaunted Bendis Boards, home of many creators and fan discussions over the years, has closed after 22 years of existence. There wasn’t a real reason for closing them, but these boards have existed longer than Bendis has been a prominent comic creator and will certainly be missed. Rest in peace, you message boards of Cleveland, you forums of Portland.

– Gary Whitta, one of the screenwriters tasked with one of the “Star Wars” spin-off films, has been hired as the man for the job in adapting Mark Millar and Goran Parlov’s “Starlight”. The fantastic Image series has gained a lot of fans, and while Whitta’s a big name for the “Star Wars” news, it’s hard not to be a bit suspect of a guy whose previous credits include “The Book of Eli” and “After Earth”. Not exactly inspiring stuff, I say.

– We’re late to this party, if you consider criminals with bombs in their heads off on missions a party: sounds like “Fury” director David Ayer is going to be directing a “Suicide Squad” film, which means plenty of big badda boom and action posing I imagine. But hey, “Fury” looks cool, so we’ll see!

– Good news all: “All-New Ghost Rider” has been uncanceled. Or it was never canceled. Or it was canceled then uncanceled then canceled again then uncanceled again. Or we’re all just all temporary, man, waiting for our cancelation in life to come some day.

– File this one under EXTREMELY thin, but there’s conjecture derived from second-hand overhearing of someone that Aquaman was the person that saved Superman from the burning oil rig in “Man of Steel”. If that’s the case, that’s forced continuity if I ever heard of it, but whatevs. Totally a Zack Snyder thing to do.

– The Washington Post talks with Dr. Sheena Howard about her Eisner winning book “Black Comics: Politics of Race and Representation”, and it’s certainly worth a read.

– Now THIS is a good edition of Shelf Porn over at Robot 6. Really like how clean this guy’s set up is.
