Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– AV Club revealed their best comics of 2014 list, and while it’s no our lists, it is pretty great. A very interesting collection there, although I have to imagine they’re going to be doing a separate graphic novels list later.
– Rob Liefeld is making a religious swords and sandals comic in 2015 called “The Covenant”, and Bleeding Cool shares a bunch of pages from it. (Insert joke about Liefeld working on a swords and SANDALS book later)
– Evidently “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will in fact be tying into “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, which only makes sense given the nature of the Marvel universe. I mean, Sif appeared in an episode. How could they not make the Ultronimation that’s going to take place in that movie factor in.
– The Verge writes about how “the best science fiction right now is happening in comics”, and they’re not wrong.
– Al Pacino talks about taking a Marvel meeting, and about his kind of sort of general interest. This wouldn’t make any sense, but I’d love to have him be old guy Nick Fury from “Original Sin”. Or Fin Fang Foom. I would definitely see whatever movie gets Pacino to say “Fin Fang Foom puts you in his pants.”
– Comic writer extraordinaire Greg Pak opened his own online shop, so if you’re looking for Pak Swag, that’s your one stop shop.
– The Honest Trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy” is out, and I gotta admit, not the team’s finest effort. You can tell it is WAY HARDER for them when a movie is great like “Guardians” was.
