– Although it is not official just yet, reports are claiming that the Russo Brothers – directors behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War – will be helming both parts one and two of Avengers: Infinity War. The Russos would be taking over the franchise from Joss Whedon, who has directed the first two Avengers films. As a huge fan of Winter Soldier, I am very excited about this.
– Congratulations to “Rat Queens,” which has been awarded a GLAAD Award for “Outstanding Comic.” The book was recognized for “outstanding portrayals of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.” Good work, Kurtis!
– Fans of Joe Kelly and J.M. Ken Niimura’s “I Kill Giants” rejoice! Chris Columbus and Treehouse Pictures have optioned the book for a feature film adaptation. Congrats Joe and Ken!
– Attention fans of good comics: Gilbert Hernandez is doing a new one-shot for Fantagraphics. Called “Blubber,” is due in June. Get excited!
– This is your daily announcement of yet another “Secret Wars” tie-in: “Hail Hydra,” from Rick Remender and Roland Boschi, starring Ian Rogers. The book is due, most likely, in July.
– Get sad, fans of X-Men and pretty ladies: it appears that X-Men: Apocalypse will be the last X-film to feature Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.
– And, finally, get sad, gamers: Batman: Arkham Knight has been delayed again.
