Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– A new series titled “Legendary Star Lord” is coming from Marvel in July, with Sam Humphries writing and Paco Medina on art. I love me some Star Lord, but he’s more of a team type guy in my mind. Really not sure if this is a book I need in my life, even with a quality team behind it.
– Congrats to the team of Top Shelf’s “March: Book One”, as the graphic novel by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell was picked by Oprah as one of the six books you should read this spring. Enjoy that sales boost!
– The New York Times has a look at the very excellent looking upcoming graphic novel “The Sculptor” from Scott McCloud. Really excited about this project, I must say.
– Robot 6 covers the response of Tankhead Custom Tees to the recent controversy surrounding a shirt theysell that talks about fangirls in a negative light, and I gotta say, as much as I appreciate someone sticking to their guns, their response was just about the worst response a company could have. That said, I have to wonder how much this controversy has driven up their sales. I’d imagine it is a lot.
