– Thrillbent did a quiet announcement of a book that’s coming soon through them, and I wanted to give it a shout out. It’s Tim Gibson’s Moth City, and from the little I’ve seen it of it, it looks stunning. It drops May 14, so it’s something that is right around the corner for you to check out. Take a look at the link, and make sure to check it out next Tuesday. Oh, and here’s a note from Gibson below about the release:

I am extremely excited to be involved with Thrillbent.com and very lucky to have been passed along to Mark Waid and John Rogers by some very supportive parties. Moth City has been greatly influenced by Thrillbent’s work, and other digital comic pioneers like Alex De Campi and Dan Goldman, so this opportunity is akin to buying a Nirvana cassette, starting your own band and then being invited to tour with them.

In an attempt to ‘out-enthuse’ Mark Waid all I can say is holy-s&!t, am I grateful for all the support Moth City has received from it’s existing readers, and the comics community as a whole, and I can’t wait to get my noir-crime-horror-genre-mash in front of more readers.

– In the world’s least surprising news, ABC picked up Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for next season. Starring Clark Gregg as the previously appearing (and very dead) Agent Coulson, this is one to watch (and watch you will) for the upcoming TV season.

– Sadly, one we won’t be able to watch is NBC’s adaptation of Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt’s “The Sixth Gun.” I’m not sure what happened with it, but ultimately, NBC passed on the project. Now it’s in turnaround, and it may not be dead, but it’s unlikely to make it after NBC passed. My opinion: they made a damn huge mistake, as this is a property that has a ton of potential. Thankfully, we still have the excellent comic to read.

– The first Marvel project to be animated? No one in the world would ever guess. It’s Big Hero 6, a rather obscure property that is looking to be released November 7 of 2014. While it’s kind of a random choice, I’d wager its Man of Action connections were a huge factor, as that team has been hugely successful in developing animated projects previously. While this isn’t a Ben 10 (yet), it easily could be in the future.

– Finally, Bryan Singer revealed James McAvoy’s look as Professor X in the 1970’s and the results are nothing if not completely hilarious. Incredibly, this makes me want to watch this film even more. You can’t make me want it more, Singer! You can’t!
