Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– You guys, Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin have released a making of The Private Eye, and it is amazing. It’s 85 pages, filled with developmental art, private email conversations between Martin and Vaughan and much more, this is the type of thing everyone should buy if they’re interested in how this delicious sausage is made. Not only that, but it’s another name your own price deal, so you have no excuse for not checking it out. Please, please don’t miss out on this kind of awesome, that way we can encourage them to do more things like it!
– As previously rumored by Bleeding Cool, Newsarama confirms that all of the lenticular 3D covers for DC’s Villains Month have sold out, with additional orders being filled with standard covers. I am Jack’s completely blown away medulla oblongata.
– The Beat has a look at the trailer for Paul Pope’s upcoming “Battling Boy” and it’s…well, shit. It’s a Paul Pope comic. What do you think it is?
– Comics Alliance has a piece analyzing what exactly San Diego Comic Con is for, and I tend to agree with it. While I’ve never been to SDCC myself, I find it hard to disagree conceptually that it isn’t really about comics anymore. It’s about the experience and the sheer size of it.
– Arune Singh of Marvel has been promoted to Executive Director of Television Communications at Marvel, and it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. I’ve been able to work with Arune a couple times at NYCC and via email, and he’s a super professional and enthusiastic guy. Congrats Arune, and well played Marvel.
