Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Two of the smaller indies, but ones with rich histories and deep pockets, have merged together: Devil’s Due and 1First Comics (formerly just plain ol’ First Comics) have come together to form…wait for it…Devil’s Due/1First Comics LLC. They’ve announced plans for six original graphic novels and five ongoing series between now and the end of the year. The first of those are the graphic novels “The Four Norsemen of the Apocalypse” by Matthew Sturges and John Lucas and “Bob Howard: Plumber of the Unknown” by Rafael Nieves and Dan Dougherty, as well as a revival of “Badger,” the Mike Baron created/written property, as an ongoing series.

– Matthew Vaughn has announced that he is trying to bring a Hit Girl prequel film to the screen, which would also feature Big Daddy, and tell the tale of how they became those characters. That sound you hear? The collective yawning of the world.

– It seems like Wonder Woman’s costume gets retooled more than almost any other in comics, and yesterday her new costume appeared in “Wonder Woman” #41. In the back of that book, DC also published some sketches and works in progress that led David Finch to the new design. Personally, throw some pants on the old design and I’m happy.

– “Heavy Metal” #275 features solely contributions from Mexican creators. This is an historic and really interesting decision for the company, which has been trying to rebrand itself as of late.

– Si Spurrier is joining Titan’s “Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor” as co-writer. Congrats, Si!

– Speaking of congratulations, our pal Andrew MacLean’s “Head Lopper” is headed to Image. This is great, great news. Congrats, Andrew!

– If you were one of the many folks who picked up “Prez” #1 from DC this week, you may not even realize that there was a “Prez” Vol. 1 in 1973. Comics Alliance talks about the original series, which happens to be on sale via comiXology this week.

– While on comiXology, you might want to pick up those issues of “Klarion” you were waiting to buy in trade, since that collection was just cancelled. Womp womp.

– “West Portal,” a new ongoing from Kieron Dwyer and Todd Rinker, is currently looking for funding on Kickstarter, and it looks incredible. Funded!

– Bryan Hitch claims he has about “7 story arcs” worth of plot for “Justice League of America,” his new DC title. Hitch’s work is often delayed, so expect a guest penciler on about half/three quarters of those stories.

– Obviously, Grant Morrison is always right.

CBR takes a look back at the ‘surprisingly hip’ Batman Forever soundtrack. The fact that Sunny Day Real Estate was on a Batman soundtrack is crazy.

– September 22 marks the release of The Flash Season 1 and Arrow Season 2 on Blu-Ray, and they make excellent stocking stuffers for Multiversity editors.

– Dan DiDio is a guy who gets a bum wrap for a lot of stuff, even if he deserves it sometimes, but his desire to kill Dick Grayson keeps popping up like a bad penny. He started way back in 2004 trying to axe the best ass in comics!

– Sometimes, we hear of casting decisions and think “oh, that would’ve been great! Why didn’t that happen?” Well, Courtney Love as Harley Quinn is not one of those instances. I’m getting chills just thinking about it.

– Comics Alliance has been doing a great series called “Today in Comics History” – yesterday was Wally Wood’s birthday, and they did a very nice tribute to one of the all-time greats.

– And, finally, Denny’s has rolled out a new Fantastic Four themed menu – if the Invisible Woman Slam isn’t just a $4 plate with nothing on it, someone isn’t doing their job.
