Welcome back to The Rundown, Uncanny Avengers style (in that it was delayed), our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
– If you need any other reason to love Matt Fraction and #Hawkguy, read this interview over at CBR. Nothing too story-driven is dropped, but hints of things getting crazy with the end of issue #9 are interesting, as is the sheer enthusiasm Fraction seems to have for the project and specifically the support of the seventh issue. Cheers to Matt for supporting a great cause.
– Also at CBR, Dark Horse EIC and upcoming “Abe Sapien” co-writer Scott Allie teases the upcoming solo series for our favorite aquatic-ish hero. There’s a lot covered, but mostly, you can just sense the enthusiasm for artist Sebastian Fiumara’s first run as an artist in the Mignolaverse. This is nice and all, but expect something from Team Mignolaversity with Allie soon.
– AWWW YEAH COMICS! It’s hard to not want to support Art Baltazar and Franco, two of the most seemingly enthusiastic and entertaining creators around. Now, they’re launching “Aw Yeah Comics” through Kickstarter and they need your support. Check out the details at Robot 6.
– Finally, while I was out, Joe Hughes wrote a piece at Comics Alliance commenting on the dearth of black creators working at the Big Two. Instead of responding, I’ll just link to these comments that Rob Guillory of “Chew” tweeted and/or retweeted.
