– At Hitfix, Drew McWeeny writes about a mandate he’s heard from Warner Bros. about DC Entertainment’s films. That mandate? “No jokes.” According to McWeeny, jokes are straight up not allowed in DC’s movies, as jokes are for the lowly, human like Marvel characters, and DC’s more godly types are the strong and stoic ones. It fits what we’ve seen so far from today’s status quo with their movies, as even their titles – DAWN OF JUSTICE – is over the top serious, and imagery from the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has all been sober to an unhealthy degree. Some have already pooh poohed this idea, but I gotta admit, I would not be surprised to see this as something real from the company who okayed the image at the top.

– Congrats to Jason Fabok, as he’s officially taking over art duties on “Justice League” with Geoff Johns on issue #36. He wrote up a little somethin’ somethin’ as to why this is so special to him, thankfully noting that Buzzfeed did an awful job of covering the announcement (agreed, Jason!).

– Is “Elektra” from W. Haden Blackman and Mike del Mundo coming to an end? That’s what Rich at Bleeding Cool says.

– USA Today wants you to know that comic book movies aren’t going anywhere, because it turns out they are great and make a ton of money. Really going out on a limb there, what with movies planned until 2028 for Marvel and everything.

– Oh hey, congrats to Dan Abnett, as he’s writing an Avengers novel titled “Avengers: Everybody Wants to Rule the World” that is set to be released before “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

– Comics Alliance says happy birthday to Jack Kirby with tribute art and write-ups from folks like Riley Rossmo and Ryan Penagos.

Hello Kitty isn’t a cat, and nothing will ever be the same.
