Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Long before the recent Sony cyber hack, there had been rumors of Marvel Studios approaching Sony about working something out between the two companies to allow Spider-Man to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well, now that hack appears to confirm this plan, although all reports seem to suggest that the plan broke down before discussions got all that serious, but there were some juicy tidbits gleaned from the cyber theft: a Spidey-role in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War was discussed, as was an animated Spidey comedy from the 21 Jump Street/Lego Movie duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller. I think I speak for everyone, aside from Sony executives, when I say that Spidey coming to the MCU would be just about perfect, although a weird Spidey stoner comedy isn’t far behind.
– Yesterday, we reported that the AV Club had named their best comics of the year, with David suggesting that there must be a separate list for original graphic novels. Well, boo-ya – our wish is their command! Let’s try another: more “Undercover” bands that work hard on an unique arrangement, please!
– If you loved the Michael Bay-directed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, but wish he ruined more of your favorite characters, you’re in luck! Casey Jones, Bebop, and Rocksteady might all be in the upcoming sequel!
– Personally, I wasn’t as scandalized by the new lightsaber design from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer as many of my nerd brethren were. However, I think we can all agree that these Expanded Universe lightsaber designs make the Force Awakens one look like an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
– If you want to read all of DC’s “Convergence” event – 89 issues in total, it’ll cost you just over $40 a week, or $365 to do so. While that isn’t cheap, I am glad that means that all the tie-ins are remaining $3.99 (I mean, I’d prefer $2.99, but I’m a realist) and not skyrocketing too high, although the main series will be $4.99 an issue. Remember when comics were cheap, you guys?
– Just two years later, Christian Bale spells out the ending of The Dark Knight Rises for you, just in case you dozed off in the theater/are a moron.
– And finally, we’ve had our fair share of weird Justice Leaguers in the past, haven’t we friends? But I think we can all look forward to the newest members of the League, at least temporarily: the stars of “Inside the NBA.” “Justice League Goes Inside The NBA All-Star 2015,” written by Brian Buccellato, illustrated by Beni Lobel, and starring a slew of NBA legends, this obvious successor to “Watchmen” will hit in 2015. The fact that we get Marv Albert in DC comic where he isn’t some supervillain called “Backbiter” is some seriously fucked up shit. Yes?
