Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Despite the fact that it appeared that the character appeared on the show’s pilot, it has now been revealed that Sparticus star Liam McIntyre will be playing the Weather Wizard on The Flash in a number of episodes. Since the character has often been portrayed as having a brother, and as Clyde Mardon was the pilot’s weather-controlling villain, we can only presume that McIntyre is playing Mark Mardon, which sounds like an alternate universe podcast host.

– Just hours ahead of Image Expo, Todd MacFarlane claims that he will announce a new Eisner-winning writer of “Spawn” later today. MC Editor David Harper has his money on Garth Ennis; I am thinking it will be Kurt Busiek.

– Newsarama and PicClick.com, a hotbed for all comics news and analysis, take a look at the ever-evolving logos of Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man.

– Mark Waid chats with CBR about his work on the relaunched “Archie” title, and he takes time to ensure all of us that it won’t simply be a sad, dark, drugs-filled revamp. Modern doesn’t equal dark to Waid, and that is a good thing for all of us who will be picking up the book.

– G. Willow Wilson confirmed that she is only on “X-Men” for 4 issues, but will be launching what appears to be a new X-team book in a few months.

– Mark Siegel of First Second gave a three part interview to ICv2 about all things First Second – it is worth a read, for sure.

– Despite constantly fighting for more money from his Marvel creations, fear not, true believers: Stan Lee still has enough scratch to buy a new $4.4 million dollar home in Los Angeles.

– And, finally, someone carved Batman from a tree, and the results are pretty insane.
