Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– In the upcoming Deadpool #27, Gail Simone is going to be working on her first Marvel story in 10 years. Given her history with the character, it only makes sense that she’d come back for this one, and I’m eager to read it. Plus, mother flippin’ JOE KELLY BACK ON DEADPOOL. YEAHHHHH!!!
– Kickstarter watch! Do you want to support some damn fine Kickstarters? Start with the already funded “Something Terrible” from Dean Trippe, which is set to create print versions of the webcomic that is one of my absolute favorite comics of 2013. Meanwhile, Mike Kunkel – the man behind “Herobear and the Kid” – is looking to get his Squiggle Project funded, and it’s well worth a look and certainly looks like a whole lot of fun.
– Graeme McMillan over at Heat Vision analyzes how the move from Dark Horse to Marvel could affect the Star Wars comics, the fans who read them and the publishers who make/made them.
– Oo la la! There’s a limited edition hardcover of the True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys coming from Dark Horse that is limited to 2,500 copies, featuring “an extensive sketchbook with artwork from Becky Cloonan, Gabriel Bá, Paul Pope, Gerard Way, Fábio Moon, Rafael Grampá, and Brian Ewing.” Tres magnifique! If you missed it, this would be a great way to read the series, and it is certainly an exceptional way to read it again if you loved it.
