– In a bit of speculation that seems far fetched, even for Bleeding Cool, the theory is floated that Marvel might contemplate cancelling “Fantastic Four” as a title, just to limit the interest in a Fantastic Four film. Twentieth Century Fox, which controls the film franchises of both the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, got the rights to the characters while Marvel was at their lowest, both financially and creatively, and Marvel’s long term plan, appears to be, to have those films do poorly, and therefore bring the rights back to Marvel Studios. This plan seems incredibly risky and short-sighted, but I suppose stranger things have happened in the Marvel world.
– Remember “God is Dead,” the Jonathan Hickman book at Avatar Press that became the Mike Costa book at Avatar Press? Well, it seems, for a month at least, it is now the Alan Moore/Mike Costa/Si Spurrier book at Avatar Press.
– Clark Gregg is lobbying for a role on a Marvel Netflix series – and why wouldn’t he?
– The Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award nominees have been announced, and the list is quite impressive.
– Dynamite has announced a bunch of new projects, including books based on the film series Shaft. I’m serious.
– Jonathan Maberry is bringing his Rot and Ruin series of zombie novels to IDW for a new ongoing series.
– DC is, supposedly, getting rid of their comped copies for staff. Hopefully press isn’t next!
– Walt Simonson has released a new video discussing his new book, “Ragnarok,” from IDW.
– And, finally, Skottie Young discusses how Red Bubble users keep stealing his work.
