Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Word from on high – and by that, I mean Newsarama by way of Variety – is that Peter Dinklage (the incredible Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones or, my personal favorite role of his, the quiet station agent from…The Station Agent) has been cast in a role as the villain in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Initially, people circled the role of Puck for him, but once the idea of him being the main antagonist came about, most agree he’s likely to be the voice of Nimrod, the mutant hunting super sentinel from the comic storyline.

Whatever role he’s playing, Peter Dinklage is a superb actor and is a benefit to the cast of any movie/TV show/whatever.

– In other movie casting news, Stanley Tucci – who played Dr. Erskine in the first Captain America film – shared that Hayley Atwell, Peggy Carter from that film, will be appearing in a flashback in The Winter Soldier. I can completely support this, given that I found her outrageously charming and attractive. Plus, it makes perfect sense that she would appear as a transition for Emily VanCamp coming as Sharon Carter. Also, apparently I am late to the news that Anthony Mackie is playing The Falcon, but cheers to them for that casting.

– Dr. McNinja’s Christopher Hastings is teaming up with artist Reilly Brown in a Hawkeye/Deadpool story in A+X #8. That’s a perfect marriage of characters and creators if I have ever seen it.

– According to an article at Bleeding Cool, inker Jonathan Glapion is off Batman even though Greg Capullo – his partner for the whole series – is still on it. No explanation why, but it’s a shame. Glapion has been part of the art team that has really made that book work.

Also at BC, it appears Rafael Grampa is working on a Batbook of some sort. No real details as to what, but my best guess? Legends of the Dark Knight. Seems kind of obvious, but also seems very right.

– Over at Comics Alliance, Caleb Goellner takes readers on a tour of Toy Fair 2013 and gives us a look at the epic collection of Transformers toys that are upcoming. Their number includes Metroplex, which amounts to the biggest transforming Transformers toy ever. Two feet tall AND it turns into an Autobot city. Just $125!!

The Canadian Parliament debates preparations for the zombie apocalypse. I don’t need to say anything else about that, besides that there is actually a video of this. And it is amazing.
