Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
– According to Deadline, the director/co-writer of Iron Man 3, Shane Black, will be following IM3 up with handling the same roles for the adaptation of pulp hero Doc Savage’s blockbuster film. While no word came directly from Black, those around the project exclaimed about Black’s enthusiasm for the project. Regardless, it continues the huge comeback by Black, one of the better action writers out there who also wrote one of my favorite action comedies in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.
– In the latest edition of Robot 6’s Talking Comics with Tim segment, Gabriel Hardman, one of the most gifted artists and sharp seeming gentlemen in comics, talks his latest project in Kinski from Monkeybrain, waxes ecstatic about various films, and much more. It’s a great interview series with a great subject this week, and definitely worth a read.
– Apparently the creative duo of Manhattan Projects, Jonathan Hickman and Nick Pitarra, hung out recently, and in the process Pitarra shared a sketch of Albert Einstein Hickman did. Kind of makes us want Hickman to draw an issue, but I’m pretty sure he’d have to be cloned to handle that. Calling the Manhattan Projects team!
– Lastly, Sam LeBas, one of Multiversity’s newest writers, is doing a survey on nudity and sexuality on comics. She’s hoping to turn this into an article for Multiversity, so be a whole lot of dears and fill this survey out for us. It shouldn’t take long.
