Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– A few days ago, Rob Liefeld tweeted that he had a new project at Marvel, and we perked up a little. If he had tweeted that the project at Marvel was with Multiversity alum/Bojangles enthusiast Chad Bowers? Well, shit son, we’d have retweeted that to the moon! The “X-Men ’92” cowriting pair of Bowers and Chris Sims is working with Liefeld on a new Deadpool OGN called “Deadpool: Bad Blood,” and now I’m excited for this book. Way to go, Chad!
– Amy Landecker of Transparent has joined Doctor Strange in an unnamed role. The cast for this film is certainly going even further than Ant-Man did in casting folks that you’d never normally associate with a superhero film. Good job, Marvel Studios!
– Fox has announced that Lucifer will debut on Monday, January 25 at 9pm. That seems to be the best position for it, as it is following Gotham and not programmed against any other comics TV. Oh wait, Gotham doesn’t come back until late February? Nevermind!
– The first X-Men: Apocalpyse teaser trailer will reportedly debut ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While this is a huge audience before which to debut, if they are anything like me, the adrenaline coursing through my veins will render me incapable of seeing anything but my childhood memories of Star Wars at that point. Maybe when I see it a second or third time.
– And, finally, DC is making this sweet Carmine Infantino Batman statue. Christmas is coming, loyal Multiversity readers! Your put-upon editor could use a little office goody now and then.
