The development of this show has been a long time coming, originally having a home over at SyFy, but now it looks like Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt’s horror Western is coming to NBC, thanks to a new report from EW.

The book, dealing with events circulating around six guns with extranormal powers, will be adapted for the small screen by LOST’s Carlton Cuse. According to information presented over at CBR, Ryan Condal will be writing the adaptation for the pilot, and Eric Gitter and Andy Borne are executive producing.

It’ll be interesting to see how the pilot turns out. The Locke and Key pilot for Fox, for example, ran the entire span of the first six-issues. Cuse is definitely a great choice for show-runner for a book of this caliber, and it’ll be nice to have a Western on TV that actually takes place in the Old West. And on the plus side, we’ve already cast the show, so that’s good and taken care of.

We’ll keep you posted on the details as they develop.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
