Bet you thought you’d seen the last of him. Or, had hoped, anyway.

Announced on Marvel.com, Doc Ock as Spider-Man returns this August for two more issues of “Superior Spider-Man.” With issues #32 and #33, the book will briefly relaunch under the hands of Dan Slott, Christos Gage, Giuseppe Camuncoli and Adam Kubert, offering what is teased as an untold tale of Ock’s time as Spidey.

There will be time-travel involved, relating back to issue #19 of the series where Otto temporarily vanished, and will also be involved with the bigger Spider-Verse storyline in “Amazing Spider-Man” as the Superior Spider-Man becomes Spider-Man 2099.

Man. Spider-Man comics are getting complex.

Both books will arrive in August, with the first part illustrated by Camuncoli and the second part illustrated by Kubert.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
