The Variants (or, How the Hell Did We Miss This?!)

I don’t know how we missed this, but in reading an article by Comic Related I noticed mentioning of a web series that was described as “like Clerks if it took place in a comic shop.” Needless to say, I immediately found the website in order to watch this program. What I found is that the description is actually quite accurate. This is DEFINITELY Clerks if it took place in a comic shop, and being a huge fan of Kevin Smith and comic shops, I had to ask myself, “How on Earth did I miss this?”

In the first episode of the Variants, we meet the clerks of the comic store Zeus Comics, as a brand new limited edition hardcover by “Jim Liefeld” comes out. Throughout the episode we see both hardcore fans of the book and general dissenters (which I would assume would be all of us at MC) in a very humorous exposition into the general life of the comic book nerds.

Watch and enjoy:

While I apologize for not posting about this sooner, I hope this comes as a pleasant gift in our new year. Please visit TheVariants.com for more episodes, and subscribe on YouTube. It’s getting a good amount of buzz on the internet, plus now our endorsement as well.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
