Just aired at “The Walking Dead” panel at San Diego Comic Con, the show gets a 3 minute (ignore the last 30 seconds) trailer for the upcoming fifth season, along with a premiere date: October 12th at 9 PM. The trailer is a doozy following on the heels of last year’s finale that found the good guys getting captured by the folks at Terminus, and this trailer shows…well, it shows that apparently they’re not there for too long as they head off with a purpose to get to Washington D.C. so Eugene can save the human race (good luck with that, by the way).
It’s a moody, action-packed spectacle of a trailer, and it looks like season 5 will be filled with more blood, guts and tragedy than ever. Hopefully it isn’t filled with any more ill-advised returns of the Governor or circular communication that drives a rift between the group members once again.
The two standouts for me from the trailer though include:
– Andrew J. West’s Gareth, the leader of the Terminus team, seems to be a creepy to the max weirdo who is magnetic in his brief moments in the trailer. We know nothing about him yet, but whoever this guy is, I’m in. He seems bad, but the engaging type of bad.
– I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but the Beth stuff where she appears to be in a prison/psych ward of some sort was probably the best part of the trailer. I have no idea what’s going on there or why it’s happening, but those 30 seconds were very, intriguing.
What did you think, folks? Did this get you excited for the fifth season, and more importantly to certain French musicians who read our site, my reviews? Share in the comments!
