The upcoming New Justice title, “Justice League Dark,” will be crossing over with “Wonder Woman” this October, in a five-part weekly event called ‘The Witching Hour.’ All five issues of the story, which pits the team against the Greek goddess of magic Hecate, will be written by “Justice League Dark” scribe James Tynion IV. The event will be bookended by two one-shots, “Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark: The Witching Hour” #1 (out October 3), and “Justice League Dark and Wonder Woman: The Witching Hour” #1, both with art by Jesus Merino. Parts two and four will take place in “Wonder Woman” #56 and #57, with art by Emanuela Lupacchino and Ray McCarthy, and part three will take place in “Justice League Dark” #4, illustrated by the regular art team of Alvaro Martinez and Raul Fernandez.

The series comes off a lead-in from the “Justice League: No Justice” event written by Tynion, Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, with art from Francis Manapul, Marcus To and Riley Rossmo. In that series, Wonder Woman discovered a deeper connection to magic, the impetus for forming the JLD (whose series begins next week on July 25th). This announcement also comes on the heels of the reveal that G. Willow Wilson and Cary Nord would be taking over “Wonder Woman” with issue #58 in November.

You can check out some covers courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, as well as DC’s press release for the event below:

Wonder Woman and the heroes of JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK (yes, Detective Chimp and Man-Bat too!) are just learning how to work together when they’re presented with their most dangerous challenge yet in WONDER WOMAN AND JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: THE WITCHING HOUR, an event that promises to rewrite the future of DC’s magical heroes.

Writer James Tynion IV and an all-star lineup of artists take over October, just in time for Halloween, with this five-part weekly series. This is the first event in the “New Justice” family of titles (JUSTICE LEAGUE, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, JUSTICE LEAGUE ODYSSEY, TITANS, TEEN TITANS), featuring two 48-page one-shots and also playing out in the pages of both WONDER WOMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, with all issues written by Tynion IV.

Part one, WONDER WOMAN AND JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: THE WITCHING HOUR #1, with art by Jesus Merino, sets the tone for the Wonder Woman-centered event. In this 48-page debut one-shot, Hecate, the witch-goddess of magic, always knew a day would come when the monsters she stole her magic from would return. Now she must activate the Witchmarked, humans within whom she secreted vast stores of power. This hits Justice League Dark especially hard: one of the most powerful of the Witchmarked turns out to be Wonder Woman! WONDER WOMAN AND JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: THE WITCHING HOUR #1 is on sale October 3.

WONDER WOMAN #56, with art by Emanuela Lupacchino and Ray McCarthy, pushes part two of “The Witching Hour” into new, magical, territory. After barely escaping its first encounter with Hecate, the Justice League Dark knows that she’ll be back for the power inside Wonder Woman! But what if Diana could tap into that power herself? Would she be a match for the evil witch-goddess? WONDER WOMAN #56 hits shelves October 10.

Part three, on sale October 17, is JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #4 with art by series regulars Alvaro Martinez and Raul Fernandez. Everything the Justice League Dark thought they knew about Wonder Woman and Hecate has proven to be wrong…and the Parliament of Trees is about to pay the price! Hecate knows this world isn’t strong enough to resist the Otherkind, so she’s going to burn it down and replace it with a world of her own…starting with that ancient grove!

Emanuela Lupacchino and Ray McCarthy return on October 24 for “The Witching Hour” part four in WONDER WOMAN #57. As Hecate’s new world is born, Wonder Woman is under the goddess’ total control! This is magic’s darkest hour—one of the most powerful magicians of all time may not survive!

“The Witching Hour” concludes in a 48-page finale on October 31! In JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK AND WONDER WOMAN: THE WITCHING HOUR #1 with art by Jesus Merino, Zatanna battles for Wonder Woman’s soul—and the rest of the Justice League Dark battle for their lives! Hecate is more powerful than the Greek Gods…and no matter who wins, the Earth will lose its chance of surviving the war that’s coming!

WONDER WOMAN AND JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK: THE WITCHING HOUR #1 (shown) will have a cover by Jesus Merino and a variant cover by Riccardo Federici.

WONDER WOMAN #56 (shown) will have an enhanced foil cover by Yasmine Putri and a variant cover by Jenny Frison.

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #4 (shown) will have an enhanced foil cover by Riley Rossmo and a variant cover by Greg Capullo and Jonathan Glapion.

WONDER WOMAN #57 will have a cover by Yasmine Putri and a variant cover by Jenny Frison.
