Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– This April, C3 Entertainment and American Mythology Productions will launch a new comic book starring The Three Stooges. S. L. Gallant, Bill Galvan, Greg Larocque, J. C. Vaughn, Andrew Pepoy, and more will come together to further explore the adventures of Larry, Moe, and Curly. This relaunch coincides with the 70th anniversary of the last Stooges shorts. With the recent announcement of DC’s Hanna-Barbera comics, it’s only a matter of time before we get a Marx Brothers comic, I think.

– New Becky Cloonan art is always worth looking at, and Paste has you covered. Created as part of the “Songs Illustrated” series, Cloonan illustrates a verse of Deafheaven’s “Gifts for the Earth.”

– Here’s a blast from the past: in 1992, MTV toured the Marvel offices. Letterer Jared Osborn uploaded a copy of the clip to his YouTube page. First thing you’ll all notice: the hair! It seems like Marvel recruited each and every one of these dudes (though the VJ does say, “Oh, and some ladies,” at one point) from a Def Leppard concert. Also, oh my God, how did Marvel even survive the 90s? That aesthetic is so gross and painful you’d be better off staring at the sun, standing in the sea, with lightning in your teeth. Most of the people in the offices are letterers, but they did score an interview with a young Bob Harras, who, interestingly enough, sees the editorial department having the same role as a movie director.

– The Guardian provides an overview of the creators shaking up the comics industry. They offer profiles on Image heavy-hitters Kelly Sue DeConnick, Fiona Staples, Kieron Gillen, and Jamie McKelvie (though their book recommendations have a broader reach). There’s probably no new information in this that Multiversity Comics readers don’t already know, but it’s nice to see the legitimacy of this medium being reaffirmed.

– Zainab Akhtar continually provides some of the most substantial and interesting information in the comicsphere, constantly filled with intelligent commentary, interesting perspectives, and a wide range of material. She launched a new series this week called “Need to Know,” a “new feature that aims to get you quickly acquainted with cartoonists and illustrators of talent and interest,” that will undoubtedly further cement her site’s status. Her first guest: Manjit Thapp.

– A lot of Multiversity readers probably want to make comics of their own. Cheryl Eddy and io9 points out the free California College of the Arts class, “Comics: Arts in Relationship.” CCA is one of the few schools to offer an MFA in Comics.

– On Friday, we asked if keeping the DC Film and TV Universes separate was a good thing. Well, the results are in and 43% of voters think that because there’s a multiverse at work, these things were never necessarily separate to begin with. 24% think the TV and movies should be able to thrive in their own medium, while 22% think that synergy is the way to go. (Because that’s doing so well for the comics medium itself.) Actually,
now that I think about it, how fantastic would it be for Teen Titans Go! to be part of this DCU canon? (Very fantastic.)

8% just don’t care and 1 peep only watches PBS.

Anyway, make sure you check back on Friday for our next Weekly Readers’ Poll!
