I’m going to be on vacation during this weekend’s C2E2 convention in Chicago, but man, I really am interested in finding out exactly what Marvel’s big reveal about their master plan with the X-Men is. With today’s announcement the X-Men have a theoretical roster of the following:
- Hope
- Blade
- Psylocke
- Spider-Man
- Savage She-Hulk/Lyra
- Magneto
At this point, really anyone in the Marvel universe with a pulse is on the table. How about Warlock and and a Doombot? Or possibly Rockslide and Fin Fang Foom? Scratch that, that last duo may actually make me purchase this.
I guess my point is this list hasn’t made a whole lot of sense so far. Not to be that guy, but as Brandon said in our comments for yesterday’s announcement, it seems like we’re moving further away from actual teams that make sense. One of the biggest problems in the X-Books right now is casts that are too expansive, and now we’re adding non-mutants to the equation. I hope Marvel has a good idea behind this, but right now it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
