Things Are Looking A Little Doom-y For Superman In May

Accusations of DC just recycling ideas that made them money in the 90s are about to hit fever pitch as over at CBR the next Superman crossover event has been revealed and it is… ‘DOOMED’. Teased for a while now, the event is set to take place in May and deals with apparently Superman’s first big encounter with Doomsday in the New 52. Guess that whole thing about Superman’s first death in Grant Morrison’s “Action Comics” run doesn’t matter, huh?

Anyway, the whole thing is going down in May and will be crossing over the two big Supes books, “Superman” and “Action Comics”, with the new kid on the block, “Superman/Wonder Woman”. There’s also going to be a “Superman: Doomsday” one-shot to kick off the whole thing that will be written by all of the main titles’ writers Scott Lobdell, Greg Pak and Charles Soule with Ken Lashley’s art and cover (which is featured above). Then the story will be crossing through “Action Comics” by Pak and Aaron Kuder, “Superman/Wonder Woman” by Soule and Tony Daniel and Batt, and “Superman” by Lobdell and Ed Benes. The covers to all those issues are down below.

So, what do you guys think? Inspired or no? Will you be checking this out? If you are interested, be sure to check out CBR for more information on “Superman: Doomed”.

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
