I’d wager a guess that, if you’re a fan of comic books and comic book-related music, you’ve probably heard of Eugene Ahn, aka Adam WarRock (unless you live under some form of culture-free rock). Pushing himself above and beyond as the premiere face of geek-based rap, you might now Adam from such albums as The War for Infinity and This Man… This Emcee! (or even his co-hosting gig at the ever-awesome War Rocket Ajax), as well as an entire album dedicated to Firefly, which you can download entirely for free.

Now he’s prepping his next album, You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? for release on February 13th, and to promote the album and get you psyched for it, we’re sharing with you the first single, “616.” Produced by Vince Vandal, the song pays tribute to the Marvel universe (and a certain distinguished competitor, amongst other things), and features lines like “These rappers wanna talk about iced chains and fancy cars, Me I’m trying’ to build that fucking mansion in Asgard” (and you can find a full set of lyrics and annotations right here for your convenience).

On top of that, the new album will feature songs like “I Kill Giants” (after one of our personal favorite comics), “Retcon”, “Booster Gold” and “MLF.” If you like comic books, rap, or at least one of the two, it’s fair to venture a guess that this will find a nice home in your personal collection.

Give the first single a listen to above, and if you like it feel free to download yourself a copy at Adam WarRock’s BandCamp site for the low, low price of free.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
