Remember that movie a few years ago called Thor? Yeah. That was awesome.
Honestly, it was and is my favorite Marvel film. Iron Man was fun, Cap and Hulk too, but in the pre-Avengers world it was Thor that hit all the right notes for me — an actor I didn’t know portraying one of my favorite comic characters in a film that clearly took nods from one of the best runs on the character of all time, full of enough thematic drama and disarming humor to make it one of the most generally accessible Marvel films for a wide range of audiences.
Plus, it introduced us to Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Remember that? Yeah. That was awesome.
So I don’t think I’m the only one out there anticipating the new Thor film, which sounds like it’ll be pretty awesome even without Branagh attached. It’s directed by Alan Taylor, who has directed a whole host of Game of Thrones episodes, and that’s… like, totes the same thing, right? (Not really, but I have fingers crossed.) Throw in some Mad Men and Soprano’s credits along with Zach Levi taking over the role of Fandral and roles from Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko!) and Christopher Eccleston (too many fan-favorite roles to name) and you’ve got some massive anticipation for this film going.
Plus, it’ll feature more of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Remember that? Yeah. That’s awesome.
