Day one at San Diego Comic Con 2015 is in the books, and after a relatively quiet previews night, last night the news was breaking in droves, some rumors, some confirmed. We’ve got all the news that we missed yesterday in one convenient place, right here!

DC:

– There are reports out there that are indicating that Geoff Johns will be co-writing Ben Affleck’s upcoming solo Batman film with the actor/director. This should, in theory, be reason for optimism, until you remember that Johns was heavily involved with Green Lantern.

Supergirl seems to really be embracing the history of Supergirl and Superman on TV, and has made yet another stride towards collecting every Supergirl ever featured on the screen for the new show – Smallville Supergirl, Laura Vandervoort, is in talks to cameo on the new CBS show this season.

– Jada Pinkett Smith, aka Fish Mooney on Gotham, seemingly has a lot of fun play DC characters, and wants to play Vixen in Suicide Squad 2, should such a film exist.

Marvel:

– From the “holy fuck I’m getting old,” the 50 years old Marisa Tomei has reportedly been cast as Aunt May in the upcoming Marvel Studios/Sony release. I always thought I’d be closer to retirement when I found Aunt May extraordinarily attractive.

– Wesley Snipes claims that he and Marvel have met over the possibility of him returning to play Blade. Personally, I think Blade on the Netflix Marvel television world is a slam dunk – hopefully they can make it happen.

– Descriptions have been released for all the upcoming ‘Road to the Force Awakens’ Star Wars books – of interest to comic fans is the further description of Greg Rucka’s upcoming novel and comic series.

– Ajax is one of the villains of the upcoming Deadpool film – the first look at the character got released yesterday.

– EPSN’s The Body Issue will be featuring Marvel characters for the first time – for reasons I’m still not entirely certain of.

Other publishers:

– Fresh off the ‘Threadworlds‘ announcement, Avatar/Korra co-creator Mike DiMartino has announced “Geniuses,” a new series of novels via Roaring Book Press.

– Just when you thought G.I. Joe couldn’t crossover with anything else, a new challenger emerges: Street Fighter!

-Speaking of Capcom properties, check out this dope wearable Mega Man helmet!

– Could Gabriel Ba start drawing a new “Umbrella Academy” in August? It seems our dreams have come true!

– Ben Edlund, creator of “The Tick,” has joined the writing team for season 2 of Powers on the Playstation Network.

– And, finally, Tony Parker’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” adaptation is getting an omnibus treatment come December.
