This week marks two things: not only does Grant Morrison return to write the main Batman title, but this is also Batman’s 700th issue! In order to celebrate such a huge landmark, the issue will feature Morrison revisiting one of his most popular comics from his run, with the future Batman Damian Wayne (see: Batman #666, which was also the first mention/appearance of a lot of villains from Batman and Robin). The story, called “Time and the Batman”, will feature a tale involving both the past, present, and future Batmen, as well as art by Frank Quitely, David Finch, Andy Kubert, Tony Daniel and more.

So, of course, this week will be Batman week over at DCU’s the Source, with today’s teaser being the first page of the 700th issue! Stay tuned to DCU’s The Source for Batman-y goodness, and keep your eyes peeled here for any cool things we may find to share.

Oh – and yes, the coolest thing about this upcoming issue will definitely be Damian’s cat Alfred.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
