Vicious told the story of Eli “Ever” Cardale, and his former college roommate Victor Vale, who discovered the ability to gain superpowers, and become E.O.s through near-death experiences. After an accident lands Victor in prison, he emerges ten years later to find Eli is now working with the authorities to hunt down and kill E.O.s. “Extraordinary” will take place during the five years between Vicious and Vengeful, and follow Eli “as he takes on a sinister new role hunting down Extraordinaries, or E.O.s, as they grapple with their newfound powers.”
Vicious was well received, and was named one of Publishers Weekly‘s SF/Fantasy/Horror books of the year, while a film adaptation was put into development by Ridley Scott’s production company. This will be Schwab’s second collaboration with Titan after “Shades of Magic – The Steel Prince,” a prequel to the Shades of Magic trilogy that ran from July 2018, until March of this year.
