Titan Comics have announced that they will be relaunching their long-running Doctor Who comic book series as “Doctor Who Comic,” with writer Jody Houser, artist Roberta Ingranata and colorist Enrica Angiolini all staying for the relaunch. The first issue will have a main cover by Peach Momoko, and variant covers by Christopher Jones, Rachael Stott, and Mirka Andolfo, as well as photo and blank sketch variants.

The new series will see the Tenth (David Tennant) and Thirteenth (Jodie Whittaker) Doctors teaming up to defeat the Sea Devils on present-day Earth, after having previously met battling the Weeping Angels and Autons in 1960s London in the previous volume, “Doctor Who: The Thirteenth Doctor.” The pair of Doctors will also be joined by Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler, who will be leading the human resistance against the Sea Devils.

The Sea Devils were first seen in Doctor Who in 1972, where they faced the Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) and his companion, Jo Grant (Katy Manning). There, the group, who had once been the rulers of Earth eons before recorded history, tried to take over the world after being released from suspended animation.

Titan Comics, and the same creative team, will be launching the comic side of the multimedia, multi-platform Doctor Who crossover event, ‘Time Lord Victorious,’ on September 2.

“Doctor Who Comic” #1 will be released on November 18.
