Tomasi and Gleason To Take Over Batman and Robin

In a bit of admittedly startling news, it seems that Grant Morrison’s Batman and Robin has found a new set of writers: Green Lantern Corps’ Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason! This is certainly the biggest news DC has had all week because last I heard, Morrison had plans to keep going on Batman and Robin for another “season”. However, according to the announcement made on The Source, the Green Lantern Corps superstars are moving from their previous home (which now belongs to Tony Bedard) and will instead be playing with Grant Morrison’s toys. As Tomasi said,

I’ve enjoyed my few forays into the Bat Universe with NIGHTWING, BATMAN: BLACKEST NIGHT, and BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS, and was always hoping I’d get a chance to tackle a main Bat book, so to be able to take the monthly reins from Grant on such a tremendous book is a dream come true and it’s going to be a blast, especially when my partner in crime is artist Patrick Gleason, who I’ve had a great working relationship over in GREEN LANTERN CORPS!

Those that remember his brief run in the Outsiders will know that it was one of the brightest spots that book has had since being relaunched, so I imagine he will once again do well in the streets of Gotham.

All surprise aside, DC promises there will be more details soon, and the beginning of their run starts in November.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
