“Tomb Raider: Survivor’s Crusade” doesn’t conclude with issue #4 until April 4, but Dark Horse have announced another four-issue limited series, “Tomb Raider: Inferno.” Starting in June, the follow-up will also be written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, and will also see the return of artist Phillip Sevy, who penciled Mariko Tamaki’s 2016 series.

The sequel will continue Lara Croft’s struggle against the nefarious organization Trinity, who send an equally hardened new operative to take her out. Lanzing told Polygon that in “Survivor’s Crusade,” they had “been slowly sharpening the weapon that is Lara Croft. Now, in ‘Inferno,’ Lara’s unleashing that weapon against the enemy. Trinity’s only hope lies in a weapon of their own — a new character who hits our story like a wrecking ball in Issue #1.”

The co-writer also promised the comic will contain “the oldest tomb in the world — a seemingly endless pit that only gets more and more incredible and mysterious the further down you go.”

2018 is set to be a big year for Tomb Raider fans, with a new movie based on the 2013 reboot starring Alicia Vikander set for release on March 16, 2018, and a third entry in the current game series set to be unveiled soon. “Tomb Raider: Inferno” #1 is out June 13, 2018.
