After much rumor-spreading across the internet, Marvel has officially announced who is to play Colonel Phillips in the upcoming Captain America film, and it is none other than Mr. Tommy Lee Jones. For those that aren’t particularly familiar with Cap’s origin, Phillips is the Army Colonel who recruited a young Steve Rogers to be part of Project Rebirth, the operation that made Rogers the Super Soldier we all know and love. Jones has been nothing but amazing as an authority figure in films past, so I’m sure he’ll bring his A game for this movie. Somewhere out there Mike Deodato is shaking his fist in anger as this probably means Jones won’t be Norman Osborn in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.
