Last night, Tony Moore posted the cover to the last issue of his and Rick Remender’s creation – Fear Agent – and it’s a beautiful and just awesome piece that will act as a wonderful swan song for their critically beloved series. Moore was very effusive about his feelings about this piece, so instead of getting into what I think, I’ll let his writing take it away:

This one was pretty heartbreaking for me. The last time i’ll draw Heath Huston. Rick Remender and I created Heath nearly 7 years ago, and in that time, we’ve thrown him through some hellacious adventures, and we’ve both grown to love the character as if he were our real lovechild. Endless thanks to Rick for helming this amazing project, and being the best collaborator a kid could have. Infinite thanks to Jerome Opena, Mike Hawthorne, John Lucas, Lee Loughridge, Michelle Madsen, and all the other amazing artists who helped contribute to this title, from the bottom of my personal heart for helping ensure Heath’s story was told. And infinitely more thanks to Kara and Danni, who put up with it all along the way. Lastly, thanks to the fans who picked up our little tale. Your support was not only crucial to keeping the book afloat, but your overwhelming love in the feedback you gave us let us know you were digging our particular brand of crazy and really powered us to see it through, and tell the story we’d set out to tell.

It’s been one hell of a rocket ride, folks. Breaks my heart to see it end, but it does me well to see it end right.

Amen brother. Too often books (or TV shows or movie series…) end up going for too long and losing their mojo. There’s a lot to be said about getting out when the getting is good, and I fully trust Remender and Moore on their decision to wrap it up with issue #32. Don’t miss it folks.
