Starting tomorrow, Top Shelf will be launching their annual sale in which they slash prices on all of their comics and let you raid their stock like the ravenous comic-loving hounds you are. And, wouldn’t you know it, but we actually have permission to talk about it today, so we’re going to.
Top Shelf is an incredible publisher, one of my favorites, and there’s a lot of great stuff to choose from in the latest sale. Whether you’re looking for popular favorites like “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen v3: Century” and “March: Volume One” (I would hope you own these at the very least), perpetual indie favorites like “Super Spy” and “Essex County” or shockingly underread or at least under-celebrated titles like “Infinite Kung Fu” and “Superfuckers”, there’s a lot to choose from. Not only that, but this year is special for Top Shelf as they’re going to be offering a digital add-on program, so for every physical book you buy you can spend a dollar or so more to get a digital DRM-Free PDF of the book, which is a first. So with some books down to as low as a dollar and others just generally hacked and slashed in their prices — yet retaining their quality as comics, obviously! — you might as well get in early before stuff you want gets sold out, like has happened to me in previous years.
