This year, more than 24 hours ahead of the start of the show, the San Diego Comic Con news has been gushing forth. We reported a number of the big items during the day, but here are the items that we missed.

– There is a “Locke and Key” audiobook in the works, with quite the voice cast: Haley Joel Osment, Tatiana Maslany, Kate Mulgrew, and father of the author, Stephen King. Created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez (both of whom will make appearances in the audiobook), the comic has been developed into a failed pilot and has been ‘in development’ as a feature film since 2012.

– Skybound head honcho and “The Walking Dead” co-creator Robert Kirkman will miss SDCC this year, due to recently having undergone ‘minor throat surgery.’ Feel better soon, Robert!

– Dynamite has made three really interesting announcements thus far that haven’t gotten much press: they will be releasing a new “Betty Boop” series, which will bleed into a new all-ages line, have partnered with Atari to both reprint and produce new titles, and will launch “Cage Hero,” a new book about – you guessed it – cage fighting, which will be ‘overseen’ by “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” co-creator Kevin Eastman.

– “Kingsway West,” a new Western comic by Greg Pak and Mirko Colak, will debut for Dark Horse in November.

– There will be the, and I quote, the “Great Harley Quinn Cosplayer Showdown” on Friday, which makes sense, as there are almost no Harley Quinn cosplayers out there, and need to drum up more people in costume (/sarcasm).
