Turn That Frown Upside Down: Spencer and Lieber Reunite for “The Fix” at Image in 2015

Today is a sad day, as Nick Spencer and Steve Lieber’s beloved run on “Superior Foes of Spider-Man” – maybe the most unexpected truly amazing comic on the stands today – comes to an end with its 17th and final issue. Woe be to us readers, as that partnership has been hugely impactful and constantly hilarious in a way you rarely see in comics today.

But what’s this? Spencer just tweeted an early holiday miracle, as he and Lieber will be reteaming in 2015 for a new series at Image Comics called “The Fix”. Little is known about it besides the teaser above and the fact that, like SUPFOES itself, it involves an unbelievably adorable dog in some small way, but we know this: we will absolutely be buying this. Spencer and Lieber are two creators who work together so perfectly that one can’t help but wish they’d work together consistently, and it’s wonderful to see that the two of them will continue on with this very fertile and exciting creative partnership. Here’s hoping that it brings even more funny to our funny books when it drops.

We’ll share more on this as we get it, but I have to give Image props: I don’t know how this deal came together, but importing a team from a Marvel title that we know worked very well is just a good idea. Seeing what they can do when they deliver a story 100% the way they want to? That could be the best idea yet. Get excited, folks.
