Image Comics have unveiled a new series called “Two Graves,” by writer Genevieve Valentine, artists Annie Wu and Ming Doyle, and colorist Lee Loughridge; and a new Skybound series called “Kroma” by writer/artist Lorenzo De Felici (“Oblivion Song”).

“Two Graves” is set to follow its protagonists, Emilia and Death, as they set out on a road trip in a stolen truck. Emilia does not know the true identity of her travelling companion, with the description suggesting she views him as “the man with the veil of smoke,” whilst Death sees Emilia simply as “the Maiden.” The two differing viewpoints will be manifested visually by Wu and Doyle illustrating one perspective each. Valentine teased that the “undead road trip” will take readers “through vanishing forests and motels in towns that never were.” In the announcement, Image summarized the series as a “contemporary Persephone myth retelling.”

Lorenzo De Felici’s “Kroma” is a fantasy comic that will see the titular character attempting to escape the Pale City, accompanied only by an orphan named Zet, seemingly the only person who doesn’t believe she is a monster. The pair’s fate seems doomed, as the Pale City is ruled by “strange rituals and customs,” and escape from it will only put them in the path of “giant lizards and enormous birds of prey.” De Felici described the series as “a hellish descent in the visible spectrum” that will “put a new fear in hue.” “Kroma” was previewed in “Skybound X” #25.

“Kroma” #1 is set for release first on November 2, with “Two Graves” #1 following a week later on November 9. Furthermore, Image announced the previously announced Charles Soule and Will Sliney series, “Hell to Pay,” will also begin on November 2.
