“Justice League Dark” scribe James Tynion IV and “Loveless” artist Werther Dell’Edera have teamed with BOOM! Studios for a new five-issue series entitled “Something Is Killing The Children.” The book focuses on a town that’s been shaken to its core following a string of grisly murders. After the arrival of a woman with special powers named Erica Slaughter, things become more complicated as she reveals the town’s secrets in an effort to solve the problem and save the children.
Speaking about the series at Comicbook.com, Tynion revealed, “‘Something Is Killing The Children’ is a project that has been living in my head for a long, long time. It’s shifted and changed in different ways at different moments, but ultimately I think this was the form it was always meant to take. […] This is a very grounded human story about very grounded human fears that take a more literal, horrifying shape.”
Artist Wether Dell’Edera said, “This is my first creator-owned project, and everything so far has been amazing. To draw a character like Erica Slaughter has been an absolute pleasure.”
“Something Is Killing The Children” #1 is slated for release on September 4th, 2019, and a variant cover for the first issue from Jae Lee and June Chung will also be available.
