Valiant Prepares For New Villains

Valiant has been doing a series of teasers to launch some of the things coming with their relaunch this year, and they’ve all been pretty great (especially the return of Ninjak!). But now, as a twist from the past look at heroes reborn, we’re now given the look at two villains who will be joining the Valiantverse.

First off, we’ve got a look at a brand new villain known as the One Percent in Van Lente and Henry’s “Archer & Armstrong,” which literally only makes me want to buy that title more. “A&A” seems to be a thematic follow-up to “Incredible Hercules” in many ways, and we’re loving every tease in that direction we’ve gotten, with the One Percent being a villainous organization wearing bull masks being in line with that.

Secondly, though, it looks like Project Rising Spirit is getting a reboot in “Bloodshot.” Old fans of “Bloodshot” will certainly remember the organization (it created the character after all; the Weapon X to his Wolverine, if you will), so it’ll be interesting to see what direction Swierczynski goes with it in the new direction.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
