We told you to keep your eyes peeled, but just in case you didn’t, Kat Vapid and Ryan Kelly’s new webcomic Cocotte has officially begun, and we’d highly recommend you bookmarking it for weekly perusal.

As Kelly writes in the first page’s blog, “This is a comic for mature readers. Cocotte is based on how people talk in a real life kitchen environment, so just a gentle warning. There’s strong language and adult themes, not much different than a Tarantino movie or an episode of The Sopranos or something, so please take note.”

With weekly updates on Monday and two-pages online now, consider this your friendly reminder to not just read news about whatever DC and Marvel is doing today, but also to check out thriving world of creator-owned comics, both those that charge and those that give it away for free. Generally speaking, when you see the words “free” combined with “comic,” you’re in for a nice treat.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
