Vault Comics have announced “Relics of Youth,” a new fantasy series from Chad Rebmann (“The Odyssey,” “Judo Girl”) and screenwriter Matt Nicholas with art by Skylar Partridge (“Crowded”) and lettering by Deron Bennett (“Batman”).
“Relics of Youth” follows Nat Rodrigues, a girl with strange dreams and visions of a mysterious island. Soon Nat discovers six other teens like her with the same obsession with this unmapped island, and one morning, they all wake up with tattoos that only they can see. Together, they must uncover this paradise’s location in the Bermuda Triangle.
Vault Editor-in-Chief Adrian Wassel compares the series to young adult adventure series like The Hunger Games and Tomb Raider, as well as comics like “Runaways” and “Morning Glories,” saying “you’re instantly pulled into a world of young, lovely, and broken-but-healing characters you can’t help but root for, as they uncover an ancient mystery and some pretty dazzling powers, too.” Matt Nicholas said, “Chad, Skylar and I couldn’t have found a better team to help us shape this property into a series we know everyone will love as much as we do,” while co-write Chad Rebmann commented “‘Relics of Youth’ has been a passion project for both me and Matt, and watching Skylar Patridge bring this magical world to life with her stunning art has been a real treat.”
“Relics of Youth” #1 will be available on comic shelves September 25, 2019.
