Assumedly off of the success of Strange Adventures, Vertigo will be releasing a new anthology comic for this Halloween.

The anthology will feature Dave Gibbons, Brian Wood, Jill Thompson, Joshua Dysart, Emily Carroll and others. It will also feature a sneak peek at a brand new Vertigo ongoing, described as “a macabre and magical saga of voodoo gods and mortals in the eerie streets of New Orleans.” No notes on who the creative team or what this book is, but assumedly details will be released soon.

Additionally, on his blog Brian Wood elaborates on his particular installment, “Americana”:

That is the name of the story I wrote for Emily Carroll, which will be published (in the Unexpected). I’ve wanted to work with Emily for ages, and if Northlanders was running for a little longer, I had planned to write her a story for that.

“Americana” is a twist on post-apocalyptic fiction, a story that, in the space of 8 pages, spans a hundred years time.

It will also feature a FANTASTIC cover by Rafael Grampa (who really needs to release more work that I can buy).

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
