We’ve been waiting for this for quite some time now, but it looks like DC and Vertigo are finally going to give us what we’re clamoring for: Flex Mentallo in glorious hardcover glory. And yesterday, the saucy teases that they are, Vertigo revealed on their blog the gorgeous Frank Quitely cover that will be adorning this deluxe special edition — and good lord, is it beautiful.

Spinning out of Morrison’s successful run on Doom Patrol, Flex Mentallo follows the titular character on a journey that goes quite beyond self discovery and into its own realm as Morrison blends meta-fiction with superhero parody for what can only be described as a tour de force. Wildly innovative and incredibly dense, for those that have found various ways to read Flex Mentallo, you’ve certainly been rewarded. Of course, now you can stop a) buying the Italian version of eBay and b) pirating it and just buy your own copy of the never-before-reprinted-in-America book.

You can pre-order the book now on Amazon, or look for it in stores February of next year.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
