It appears that there was an Emerald City Comic Con announcement we missed! It happens, as I’m sure many comic fans (and pros) can attest to how engrossing that con can be. However, it’s still something that is very exciting: Vertigo has a new 8-issue mini coming in July, and it’s called “Bodies.”
Written by Si Spencer, who did an absolutely wonderful “Hellblazer” mini with Sean Murphy a few years ago, “Bodies” follows four different characters characters in a murder mystery as their lives revolve around a centuries-spanning case in London. The first part is set in the 1890s following Edmond Hillinghead; he is followed by Karl Whiteman in the 1940s, who is in turn followed by Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan in the year 2014. All of this is capped off by Maplewood in 2050, and each of these characters bring different quirks and traits to their remarkably different time periods.
Additionally, each of the four characters will have their parts illustrated by different artists: Dean Ormston, Meghan Hetrick, Phil Winslade and Tula Lotay, respectively. Each case will showcase the artist’s talent in a rather exciting and unique way given the circumstance as they all investigate their particular dead body.
The book launches at the end of July.
