In a not-too-distant future, artificial intelligence has spawned a race of robots that serve all of humanity. Robots are considered second class citizens, but a few in the A.I. community are fighting back in a constant struggle for equal rights.
When a debilitating virus called “Rust” threatens all artificial life, salvation lies in the most unlikely of robotic heroes—not a warrior or an soldier, but in an obsolete construction worker and a dedicated caregiver. Together, HALE-19 and AMBER-7T embark on a perilous journey in search of a cure that could potentially change the balance of power on Earth forever.
In the press release, Parrot gives credit to Francia and the entire creative team at AfterShock Comics for giving him the opportunity to tell a science-fiction story about hope. As mentioned above in the solicitation, the story is about HALE-19 and AMBER-7T realizing that they can decide their own fate.
The series is the “Star Trek” and “Go Go Power Rangers” scribe’s first original comics work. Omar Francia, meanwhile, contributed to 2016’s “Aftershock Retailer Preview,” as well as Avatar Press’s “God is Dead” and “Mercury Heat,” and Dark Horse’s “Star Wars” and “Mass Effect” books.
